The Volkswagen Golf is available as a five-door hatchback, estate and three-door hatchback. It has been produced since 2017 in countries such as Germany, the People's Republic of China, Mexico and Brazil on the MQB platform. Plug-in hybrid versions are also available. It offers a wide range of powertrains - including petrol, diesel, hybrid and electric motors - with the highest power output (228 kW) from the 2.0 TSI R engine and a top speed of 250 km/h. The most fuel-efficient engine, the 1.4 TSI GTE, has a fuel consumption of 1.6 l/100 km and emissions of 36 g/km. The luggage compartment of the five-door hatchback is 380 litres, the estate 605 litres and the three-door hatchback 380 litres. Safety was rated 5 out of 5 by EURONCAP in 2012.
